A Winding Road to a Place Called Home

One school closing because of financial reasons.

Schools turning away because of an injury.

One school extending one more opportunity that led me to a place where I can grow into the player and person I know I can be.

This is the journey I made in collegiate football. I’m in my first year at Chattanooga, but it’s my fourth year in college.

I started at Limestone University in Gaffney, S.C. After my second year, the school shut down in the spring of 2025. It closed, and we were in shock. I entered the NCAA Transfer Portal with an injury at the time, and that limited my options.

A lot of my teammates didn’t get a chance to keep playing. I went to Catawba for one season. It was a good spot for me. Being in the same conference, they knew me, and I was near home and knew I could continue to grow there.

I am grateful to Catawba, but I wanted a new challenge. That’s when I found a home in Chattanooga.

It’s quite the journey for a young man who had two small college offers out of high school — Limestone and Barton College. I was happy at Limestone. Good coaches, good teammates and a good culture around the team.

They ran practice like an NFL team. We had a great head coach, a great running back coach, and a great staff. I was in the right place. Then, my world got turned upside down.

From Limestone to Catawba to Chattanooga. That’s not a normal path. But now, it’s like Limestone on steroids. Great coaches, great teammates and a great family feel. It’s been a long road, but it was worth the wait.

A New Beginning

When I arrived here, it was clear that Chattanooga is a family-oriented team. All teams I’ve been on have their own different brotherhoods and cultures, but this is one team I can say everyone is about one goal.

We want to win.

I’ve always been a shy person, so brotherhoods and culture have always been important to me. I’m not very outspoken and don’t speak much.

That changed a little bit when I got to Chattanooga. I started to get out of my shell a little bit and hang around more with the guys on the team. I started bonding more, and that really helps you build team chemistry.

When you bond with your teammates, they’re going to fight for you on the field. I felt that in the season opener this year. Due to injuries, I had my number called to run 30 times and my line did a great job getting me holes, and I ended up with 128 yards.

They fought for me so it was important for me to fight for them. It’s all about doing my part to help us win. I take it one game at a time and stay consistent in the moment. If we win, good things will come after that.

That’s what it’s all about, you know?

A New Perspective

Being at Chattanooga has changed my perspective on a lot of things. I’ve dealt with a lot of adversity over the years, and it’s been a slow grind. I’ve learned to just take it one step at a time because I don’t know what’s going to happen next.

I know I’m going to finish out strong, though. I came here with one year of eligibility left and then the NCAA added a second. With two years, I’m going out with a bang.

I’ve been blessed to find a home here. I’ve got the best coaches and teammates in the country, and I’m going to do everything I can to keep this ride going.

It’s been a wild journey, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
